M. V. Ramana is a physicist who works at the Nuclear Futures Laboratory and the Program on Science and Global Security, both at Princeton University, on the future of nuclear power in the context of climate change and nuclear disarmament. Ramana is a member of the International Panel on Fissile Materials and the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists’ Science and Security Board.[1]
Ramana has written many papers and is the author of The Power of Promise: Examining Nuclear Energy in India, to be published later in 2011 by Penguin Books.[1][2][3][4] He is co-editor of Prisoners of the Nuclear Dream (New Delhi: Orient Longman, 2003) and author of Bombing Bombay? Effects of Nuclear Weapons and a Case Study of a Hypothetical Explosion (Cambridge, MA: International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, 1999).[5]
M. V. Ramana obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from Boston University in 1994 and was a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Physics, University of Toronto and the Center for International Studies, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.[6]
